Works to expand Eastwood and Rankins Road Reserve are now complete. The new park space includes an expanded lawn area, garden beds, park furniture and paths. Additional and more diverse tree species have been planted to improve biodiversity, provide shade and local area cooling in summer.

The construction works to create the park were expected to be completed by August however the park expansion works were completed ahead of schedule in mid-June 2016. Separate drainage works for Rankins Road and nature strip reinstatement are proposed to be completed by mid-August 2016.

The creation of the new park has meant that traffic and road conditions have changed in the area. The southern end of Rankins Road has become a two-way street and the southern portion of Eastwood Street is permanently closed. A right-turn ban at Macaulay Road and parking changes have been introduced as identified in the landscape plan.

A summary of the traffic data available to date is available below.
