Future Melbourne Committee to consider draft statements of significance and revised heritage policies

November 30, 2015

On Tuesday 8 December 2015, the Future Melbourne (Planning) Committee will consider whether to seek authorisation from the Minister for Planning to commence the planning scheme amendment process by inviting formal public comments on draft Amendment C258.

The intent of the review undertaken to date and of draft Amendment C258 is to improve the way we make heritage planning decisions by:

  • ensuring our policies meet current best practice
  • making our heritage place grading system consistent with State Government requirements and
  • providing some additional local heritage context for the assessment of planning permit applications in existing heritage precincts.

Further information is available on the Local Heritage Policies Review page.
