In 2014 the City of Melbourne developed the draft Melbourne for all People Strategy 2014–17.

We consulted with the community on the draft from 14 May to June 2014 and the feedback was used to shape the final strategy.

The final Melbourne for all People Strategy was endorsed by Council in August 2014. It was designed to guide future planning, decision making, resource allocation and provision of services and programs for people. It identifies six themes central to a positive experience at all stages of life:

  • Access and inclusion
  • Safety
  • Connection
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Life-long learning
  • Having a voice.
