  • Local Heritage Planning Policy Review

    The City of Melbourne has a long history of heritage conservation. We are currently undertaking a review of the two local heritage policies in the Melbourne Planning Scheme to improve to the way we make heritage planning decisions. 

    Read our review paper and provide feedback until 8 August 2014.

  • 10-Year Financial Plan

    For the first time, the City of Melbourne is forming a People’s Panel of every day Melburnians to make recommendations to Council on where and how it should prioritise spending over the next decade.

    Broader community engagement on the 10-Year Financial Plan will take place across the city from 30 July 2014.

  • Homes for People: Draft Housing Strategy

    The draft housing strategy – Homes for People looks at ways we can improve the affordability and design of housing to meet the diverse needs of our residents. 

    The draft strategy is now open for comment until 8 August.

    The City of Melbourne's pilot open data platform provides access to our data under open licences. It's real data that you can use right now and includes maps, bike share sites, parking data and pedestrian counts.

  • Draft Walking Plan - Update

    The draft Walking Plan looks at the many ways walking contributes to the city and how Melbourne’s walking network could be improved as our population grows. It is our commitment to creating an efficient, enjoyable and safe walking environment for residents, workers and visitors.

  • City Road Master Plan - Update

    The City of Melbourne is leading the development of a draft master plan for City Road to help balance the road’s key roles as an important transport link and a people friendly place.  The first phase of community engagement took place from mid-February to mid-March 2014. You can view the feedback on the interactive map

    The second phase of community engagement will take place later in the year when the draft City Road Master Plan is released.

  • Melbourne for All People - Update

    What can we do to help strengthen opportunities for communities to connect with each other and the life of the city, regardless of age, ability or background? The draft Melbourne for All People Strategy 2014-17 sets out the ways in which the City of Melbourne will connect, support and engage people throughout their life. Consultation has concluded.

  • Harbour Esplanade Engagement - Update

    Places Victoria and the City of Melbourne are building on past conversations with the Docklands and Melbourne community to inform ongoing planning and development of Harbour Esplanade. 

    Feedback on the Harbour Esplanade engagement closed on 6 June 2014.  A consultation report is currently being prepared for release in early July 2014.
