Streetscapes projects announced for 2015-16

This year the City of Melbourne's budget has committed $1.695 million for streetscape improvements at the following locations:

Flinders Street, between Swanston and Exhibition Streets:

Replace asphalt footpath with bluestone paving ($1.3m)

Stewart Street, between Franklin and A'Beckett Streets:

Streetscape works to complement the recently completed footpath works adjacent to the RMIT development ($200,000)

Royal Lane, between Little Collins and Bourke Streets:

Upgrade asphalt footpath with bluestone paving, works to ensure compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act and investigation of facade greening possibilities ($150,000)

Lonsdale Street, between Swanston Street and Caledonian Lane:

Upgrade asphalt footpath to bluestone paving ($200,000). The City of Melbourne will contact property owners and occupiers by mail in each of the areas where works are planned.

William Street, between Little Collins and Collins Streets:

Replace asphalt footpath with sawn bluestone paving, upgrade tree plots and access ramps ($300,000)

Collins Street, between Spencer and King Streets:

Replace asphalt footpath with sawn bluestone paving, renew kerb and channel, upgrade street furniture to stainless steel, resurface the roadway upgrade tree plots ($1.1m)
