Melbourne Library Service 2021 will provide the strategic direction for City of Melbourne library service over the next five years.

From research and a review of our current library service we have developed a range of key focus areas - Community space, Collections, Capital city, Programs and events, Future focussed, Leaning and knowledge - that libraries will be working in.

The first phase of community engagement on six key focus areas is now closed. Feedback received will inform our draft strategy.

You can still read about the six key focus areas below, and please don't hesitate to email us at library.service@melbourne.vic.gov.au with any other queries or to find out more about your library service.

Updates

Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas and joined in the conversation about your Melbourne Library Service online and at our library events. It's been valuable hearing what it means for you about what you want from us in the future.

We'll be using this feedback to develop our draft strategy and vision for the library service, which we'll be releasing through this Participate Melbourne page early next year for you to have an additional opportunity to contribute to the future of your libraries.
