Release of WHEA Strategy Plan

July 22, 2021

Heritage Victoria is inviting public submissions on the World Heritage Environs Area draft World Heritage Strategy Plan.

The World Heritage Environs Area (WHEA) draft World Heritage Strategy Plan for the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens (REB&CG) is open for public submissions until 14 September 2021.

The WHEA is an area around the REB&CG that acts as a ‘buffer zone’ to protect the world heritage values of the site. The plan and the associated draft planning scheme amendments proposed for both the City of Melbourne and City of Yarra areas are open for comment.

The draft reports and further information on the submission process can be accessed at Engage Victoria.
