Worms At Work: From Food Waste to Fresh Growth

March 4, 2025

The winning idea of the 2024 Fishermans Bend Digital Innovation Challenge is kicking off and you’re invited to help shape the Worms At Work pilot.

Come along to our first gathering and share your ideas, questions and feedback on how a new approach to public composting and worm-farming could transform local food waste into nutrient-rich soil.

This interactive session will be facilitated by the winners Zoe Wang (Upsoil Collective) and Michael Mobbs (That Off Grid Guy), with support from City of Melbourne.

What to expect in this session:

  • Understand the financial, social, and environmental benefits of participating, for both residents and businesses.
  • Find out how you can get involved and learn more about this year-long community project.
  • Plenty of time (45 minutes) allocated for group discussions, and raising ideas and questions.
  • Meet a community of like-minded, passionate people who want to make a difference to the Earth!

Time and location:

Where: The Hub at Docklands (meet in the Atrium) - 80 Harbour Esplanade, Docklands

When: 6.30pm sharp, Wednesday 19 March (session approximately 1.5 hours)
