Pitch your big ideas for our Fishermans Bend Innovation Challenge

June 3, 2022

Do you have an idea on how data and technology can be used creatively in our future city spaces? Share it with the Fishermans Bend Innovation Challenge.

Fishermans Bend is Australia’s largest urban renewal project and presents a unique opportunity to explore ways the creative use of emerging technology and data could help build resilience for businesses, communities, environment and individuals.

While submissions for the Pilot Stream has now closed, we received community feedback requesting more time to develop ideas for the Ideas stream. We have reopened and extended the closing date till 15 June.

There’s more than $20k in cash and prizes up for grabs for three top pitches.

To help generate ideas we’ve selected three key areas of focus:

  • How could we use data and technology to encourage more use of sustainable transport modes like walking, riding and scooting?
  • How might we use data and technology to support us to transition from a linear economy to a circular economy?
  • What are the ways technology and data can help community building and connection as our cities evolve?

Submissions for the Ideas stream will now close at 5pm on Wednesday 15 June. Find out more and submit your idea, or contact us on smartcities@melbourne.vic.gov.au.
