In line with City of Melbourne’s Urban Forest Strategy, we are committed to creating a resilient, healthy and diverse urban forest and are planting 3,000 new trees each year across the municipality.

The Kensington Urban Forest Precinct Plan identities priority tree planting for McConnell Street and five other streets close by:

  • Coote Street
  • McMeikan Street
  • Wight Street
  • Gordon Crescent
  • Hopetoun Street

Each street has its own tree planting plan which includes the proposed tree species. Select a hot spot on the interactive map to learn more about the plans for each street.

Tree species are identified in each planting plan and is guided by the Kensington Urban Forest Precinct Plan.

This project is subject to community support.
