The Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) is the local component of the Planning Policy Framework within the Melbourne Planning Scheme. The MPS incorporates the vision and objectives of Council’s strategies, plans, policies and responses to emerging issues for managing land use and development for the next 10 to 20 years. It considers our context, history, assets, strengths, attributes and influences, and establishes the vision and strategic direction for future land use and development.
Amendment C432 proposes to introduce a new Municipal Planning Strategy, and provide new policies for all local areas within the City of Melbourne in the Melbourne Planning Scheme. The amendment implements the findings and directions of the City of Melbourne Draft City Spatial Plan (Draft City Spatial Plan).
