The draft North and West Melbourne Urban Forest Precinct Plan was informed by extensive investigations, a community workshop in 2024, and an online survey which has been open for feedback since 2023.

The draft plan was then shared with community for feedback via further survey in August 2025. The purpose of this survey was to understand if the draft plan has captured what we heard from you through our earlier consultation.

The survey asked about:

  • North and West Melbourne’s urban forest community vision
  • community recommendations for the urban forest in North and West Melbourne
  • priority areas for greening from a community perspective
  • tree types and selection for North and West Melbourne
  • tree diversity in North and West Melbourne
  • the ten-year urban forest plan for North and West Melbourne.

Feedback we heard will be used to inform the final plan, which will be presented to Council for consideration early 2026.
