We are reviewing the Melbourne Planning Scheme to:

  • assess how it’s performing
  • highlight what’s working well
  • understand what areas could be improved.

The focus of the review is local content in the planning scheme, including:

  • local policies
  • local zone and overlay schedules.

The review does not consider the Victorian Planning Provisions (VPP) that are used in all planning schemes.

All councils are required to review their planning schemes every 4 years in accordance with the Planning and Environment Act 1987.

As a regular user of the Melbourne Planning Scheme, or as a referral authority, we want to hear your thoughts and experiences using the Melbourne Planning Scheme.
