The focus of this project is renewing the play equipment within Powlett Reserve playground specifically – you can see scope of works in the draft concept plans.

No; this project is focused on the renewal of the play equipment. The footprint of the playground will remain the same.

We’re working with our Urban Forest team to ensure a diverse selection of robust species are planted, increasing biodiversity, bordering the fenced area and providing a sensory play experience for children. We’ll share what species are being planted when the concept plans are finalised.

Works are scheduled for completion in 2026/27 financial year, with construction dates to be finalised in the coming months. While construction takes place, temporary fencing will be installed around the playground, and the machinery and equipment will create some noise and dust. We’ll put measures in place to reduce these impacts as much as possible.
