The City of Melbourne has started redesigning the Riverslide Skate Park in Alexandra Gardens based on extensive ideas and feedback from the skate community.
Two years ago you told us what you loved about the skate park design and what could be improved. A lot of time has passed since then and a lot has happened – but we’re back on track and ready to put your ideas into action.
This redevelopment is in line with the City of Melbourne’s Skate Melbourne Plan 2017-2027 (PDF 3.57MB). The redesign will build on what skaters love about the current skate park, and better integrate skate facilities with the surrounding environment. The new design will also include modular changes to make the park suitable for skate demonstration events.
To help us with the redevelopment, we’re establishing a Skate Reference Group made up of people from across the skate community to provide feedback and advice as we move through the redesign and community consultation phase.
