We are hosting online workshops during March 2021 to discuss the Towards Smoke-free Melbourne 2025 draft policy. Each workshop will target a different stakeholder group to ensure we hear from interested communities.

At this time we are inviting people to register for one of the following three workshops:

  • Young people and students: Tuesday 2 March from 12.30pm to 2.00pm
  • Residents and community members: Wednesday 3 March from 12pm to 1.30pm
  • Businesses: Wednesday 31 March from 2.30pm to 4pm

Register your attendance below and we'll send you details closer to the event. Further sessions will be released in the coming weeks. Follow this page for updates.

Learn more about the policy on the project overview page.

Community panel

We are looking for 35 community members to join a panel to consider feedback, discuss the Towards Smoke-free Melbourne 2025 draft policy and weigh up options to support its implementation.

Panel members are required to attend two workshops and will receive $100 to thank you for your time.

Workshop dates and times are:

  • Tuesday 23 March, 6.30pm to 8.30pm
  • Saturday 10 April, 10am to 1pm

You don’t need any special knowledge to take part. You will be required to consider the information we will provide and discuss ideas openly with your fellow participants. We’ll do everything we can to make sure you can contribute fully.

Please register your interest in joining the community panel below. Panel members will be selected at random by independent consultant Conversation Caravan. Selection will be weighted to make sure that it is broadly representative of our community age, gender and resident/business location.

If you are selected, you will be contacted by phone and/or email. We will then be back in touch to explain next steps, workshop arrangements and discuss any accessibility or specific support requirements you may have.

Registrations close Monday 8 March 2021.

In February we’re hosting a number of pop-up conversations across the city to speak face-to-face with locals of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. You'll have the chance to speak to us about the Towards Smoke-free Melbourne 2025 draft policy, ask questions and provide feedback. Please see the locations and times listed below. We are looking forward to speaking with you.
