The City of Melbourne is proposing to sell 34-60 Little Collins Street, Melbourne.

The land is not currently used by Council, and after assessment of alternative uses, does not offer future opportunities for City of Melbourne to deliver important community, social or recreational services.

The land is subject to a 75-year lease agreement with Dexus – which operates an eight-storey car park, basement and rental premises on site. The City of Melbourne owns and leases the land but does not own or operate the car park or retail tenancies. The sale of the land would not terminate the existing lease – meaning that unless a mutual agreement is reached to terminate the lease, the car park would continue to operate until 2037.

If the land is sold, the proceeds will be reinvested into City of Melbourne’s city-shaping infrastructure projects to provide vital community services.
