Arden Street bike lane works completed

28 May 2026

City of Melbourne has completed works to deliver protected bike lanes from Dryburgh Street to Moonee Ponds Creek, supporting a safer journey for all road users, no matter how they choose to travel.

This section of the project is co-funded by City of Melbourne and the Department of Transport and Planning through the Transport Amenity Program.

What’s been delivered?

  • Three kilometres of protected bike lanes on both sides of Arden Street, from Wreckyn Street/Chetwynd Street to Moonee Ponds Creek.
  • New green surfaces and line markings at intersections, making the bike lanes clearer for drivers to see.
  • A connection to the protected bike lanes on Laurens Street, providing a safer route for riders travelling to and from Arden Station.
