Get involved in the Wild Pollinator Count!

April 17, 2020

Even though we can’t hold Citizen Forester events at the moment, were keen to find ways for everyone to connect with nature while we are physical distancing. We wanted to let you know about a data collection event that’s happening across Australia this weekend.

The Wild Pollinator Count is a citizen science event that can be done from your own backyard. All you have to do is watch any flowering plant for just ten minutes sometime over this weekend and record your observations on their website.

Counting wild pollinators in your local environment will help to build a database on wild pollinator activity and gives you an opportunity to contribute to wild pollinator insect conservation in Australia.

You can find more information on the count and how to get involved here wildpollinatorcount.com

Please note this event does not have an affiliation with City of Melbourne but we encourage you to get involved. If you’d like to share any pictures of pollinators you see with us for our website, please do!
