City of Melbourne is delivering improvements to Clayton Reserve dog park in North Melbourne.

This project is supported by the Victorian Government through the New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.

During consultation on the draft concept in 2025, the community told us that having separate spaces for small and large dogs, more seating and improved lighting was important.

We’ve taken that feedback on board and developed a final design plan which features a range of improvements including:

  • quiet dog (smaller space) and confident dog (larger space) areas
  • new five metre by four metre shelter
  • three gates and a new fence
  • additional lighting
  • new trees and garden beds
  • new seats and picnic table
  • new bins and doggy bags
  • bike rack
  • sensory landscaping
  • gravel and lawn surfaces
  • improved drainage and irrigation.

Works are expected to start in May 2026 (pending contractor availability) and be completed by late 2026, subject to weather conditions and grass establishment.
