Next Testbed pilot announced: Recycled Material Raingardens

August 25, 2022

Following three weeks and a total of 633 community votes, voting for the Fishermans Bend Innovation Challenge closed on 18 August. The winning pilot, Recycled Material Raingardens, proposes gardens in Fishermans Bend be created from local hard waste to filter stormwater run-off and reduce the risk of flooding, closing the loop on local waste while contributing to the unique character of Fishermans Bend.

Amira and University of Melbourne will work with City of Melbourne over the next 12 months to develop the pilot through a series of stages and bring it to life at Fishermans Bend.
