Ten new sensors to reveal playground trends

December 12, 2022

We've installed more movement, pedestrian and bike sensors to help us learn more about activities in Royal Park.

To expand our understanding of activity in the park, we added more Yabby sensors to additional benches, swings, slides and on the cricket nets.

We’ve already noticed some interesting trends comparing the usage of benches, swings and slides in different locations in the playground. Some of these features have different characteristics, for instance our three slides are different heights and widths.

An AIRS sensor to count pedestrian and bike movement was also installed here recently, to collect movement activity.

We’ll use this data to inform the next stage of the masterplanning project and will share data on the project page soon.

See where the new sensors have been installed.
