As Melbourne grows to be a city of 9 million people by 2056, a balanced approach to the planning and design of streets is needed to ensure the prosperity, safety and amenity of current and future residents, business owners and visitors.

The purpose of the businesses and traders focus groups is to:

  • Provide a platform for business owners and traders to speak freely about how Melbourne’s streets can better serve their needs and any challenges we need to overcome.
  • Discuss what businesses and traders would like to see more of in our city streets to maximise equitable access, safety and amenity.
  • Enable businesses and traders to contribute towards reaching a shared future vision for the streets in our Hoddle Grid.
  • Voice ideas to enhance the experience and function of streets for the short, medium and long term.
