Gardiner Reserve public toilet construction completed

July 26, 2022

In 2021, the City of Melbourne sought community feedback on a proposal to install a public toilet in Gardiner Reserve, North Melbourne.

Engagement revealed strong support for the toilet, with over 92 per cent of respondents in favour of the proposal.

Feedback from respondents highlighted that the public toilet would support the community’s use of the reserve, particularly the playground, barbeque and picnic facilities.

As a result, Council proceeded with installation of the toilet on the Haines Street edge of the reserve, near the corner of Macaulay Road.

Construction of the facility commenced in February 2022 and has recently been completed. The toilet is now open to the public.
