Construction underway

December 18, 2018

Construction has been underway since August this year, limiting access to the park.

The asphalting of Dryburgh Street and Macaulay Road footpath will be completed this month to improve access to the North Melbourne Recreation Centre.

Recent rain events have delayed the laying of lawn and asphalt works that were scheduled. Due to this, we will be removing temporary fencing from the Haines Street parking bays to enable residents to park in the area from Thursday 20 December 2018 to Tuesday 8 January 2019.

It is now anticipated that the community will be able to enjoy a partially re-opened park by the end of January, with full access to come at the end of February 2019.

In the meantime, we encourage you to explore playgrounds at:

  • Bellair Street (Kensington)
  • Hawke and Adderley Streets (West Melbourne)
  • Flagstaff Gardens
  • Royal Park

We thank you for your patience during this time; an update will be available in early 2019.
