Submissions on proposed library name

Notice is given pursuant to the Naming Rules for places in Victoria 2022 and the Geographic Place Names Act 1998 that the Melbourne City Council (Council) proposes to name the new library and family services building located at 141 Therry Street, Melbourne and 454 Queen Street, Melbourne as narrm ngarrgu Library and Family Services

narrm ngarrgu (pronounced nahrrm narr-GUW) is a Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung word that translates to Melbourne Knowledge. Council has worked with the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation that has provided the appropriate permission for use of the name in relation to the above purpose only.
