$2 swims and free swimming lessons for summer

December 12, 2024

City of Melbourne residents can enjoy discounted pool entry and free swimming lessons this summer, thanks to the new Summer Splash initiative, endorsed by Councillors at the 10 December Council meeting.

Throughout January 2025, casual pool entry fees at the City of Melbourne's outdoor pools will be reduced by up to 75 percent, with all outdoor pool entry fees just $2.

The $2 Summer Splash initiative will apply Monday to Friday through January at Carlton Baths and the North Melbourne Outdoor Pool. Excluding Public Holidays.

As part of this trial, the City of Melbourne will also provide up to 400 residents free swimming lessons through an intensive learn-to-swim program, helping participants of all ages develop essential water safety skills. Free lessons will take place at Melbourne City Baths through January.

The initiative ensures affordability for all residents, with the discounted $2 fee and swimming lessons available to adults, students, concession card holders, and children.

City of Melbourne residents can register their interest for free swimming lessons online from Monday 16 December.
