Aboriginal women’s support and safe space opens in Carlton

A family violence support and safe space for Aboriginal women has opened at Family Services Carlton Baths on Wednesdays.

The Elizabeth Morgan House Aboriginal Women’s Service aims to uphold and defend the important role of Aboriginal women in holding their communities and families together.


Who the services are for

Aboriginal women, including parents of Aboriginal children, partners, and ex-partners of Aboriginal people, as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and gender diverse, non-binary, sistergirls, brotherboys, intersex, and two-spirit queer individuals who identify as women or are comfortable accessing women’s services, who have experienced or are experiencing family violence.

  • High security refuge
  • Intake and assessment
  • Outreach case management
  • Re-link and re-connect case
