Free cooking program launches

A free six-week cooking program has launched, supporting people to learn how to cook easy, affordable and health recipes.

The OzHarvest program runs from 5 June to 10 July and is inviting people to register.

Run by Nutrition Education & Skills Training (NEST), the program will teach participants new skills for better health, including:

  • Saving money on your food budget
  • Storing food safely
  • Understanding food labels
  • Planning meals and reduce waste
  • Cooking easy and healthy recipes


Each session runs for 2.5 hours and includes fun nutrition activities, group cooking lessons and sharing a meal together.

At the end of the six-week program participants receive a certificate, resources, and a copy of the OzHarvest Everyday Cookbook packed full of simple, healthy,

and delicious recipes.

The program is held on Wednesdays, from 11am-1:30pm at Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre, 251 Faraday Street, Carlton
