Let's keep Docklands sparkling

August 30, 2024

Returning trollies to where they belong is the responsibility of the trolley user. It is an offence for trollies to be left outside their designated areas, with a fine of up to $1198 possible for anyone caught abandoning a trolley.

The City of Melbourne works with supermarkets to improve their trolley management in our communities, including new signage and arranging for trolley collectors to visit more locations in the neighbourhood. We also work with Trolley Tracker - a self-reporting platform for abandoned shopping trollies. Our team do regular patrols and report any abandoned trollies to be removed by the businesses they belong to.

You can help City of Melbourne keep our streets clear by reporting any abandoned trollies through the Trolley Tracker platform. For Costco trollies, it’s best to contact them directly.
