Update on ATET

June 16, 2023

At the Council meeting on 30 May, Councillors passed a motion to issue a Notice of Default of the Licence issued to the venue.

ATET was given a specific period of time to respond to the breaches of its licence associated with the EPA’s findings. The City of Melbourne is currently working through the Notice of Default process and will update residents when further information is available.

ATET is required to comply with EPA regulations at all times and as compliance has not been demonstrated, the venue is currently required to operate with background music only. Council will take necessary enforcement action where breaches are identified, which may include issuing the operator an infringement notice. Other immediate enforcement action would be led by other agencies.

The venue will be monitored by the City of Melbourne and other agencies over the weekend.

Council will continue to update Docklands residents with further information on this matter as it becomes available.
