Poets Lounge

Welcome to the Poets Lounge at Boyd Community Hub. Come along and fall in love with poetry.

Revel in some of the greatest literature ever written as it is brought alive during your lunchtime break. The series will feature themed readings, new poems and older ones, some Australian, some from abroad. It will be curated by Australian Book Review (ABR) and hosted by ABR’s editor, Peter Rose, an award-winning poet himself.

On our last event in February, Peter Rose (Editor of ABR) and Georgina Arnott (Assistant Editor at ABR) talked about the life of Judith Wright and read a couple of her poems:

  • Flame Tree
  • The Flame-Tree Blooms
  • Request to a Year
  • Woman to Man
  • Woman to Child

It's a monthly event, held the first Wednesday of each month from 12.30pm to 1pm in the foyer lounge.

There will be an opportunity to chat with the Editor and Community Animator at Boyd about your interest in poetry and to express an interest in reading at one of the sessions.
