The Open Innovation Competition is the City of Melbourne's yearly challenge to solve a city issue. It's an open competition where everyone is invited to propose their solutions to a problem.

Since 2018, the event has tapped into the creativity and expertise of our community and stimulated new ideas and effective solutions.

This year, the theme for the Open Innovation Competition is ‘zero-carbon and climate technology’. The Competition encourages innovators, entrepreneurs, students and community members to submit their bright ideas to solve a challenge.

We are launching a new resource this year to help you. It's an online training and support system to help you develop a strong pitch. The system is lead by experts who know a lot about building and explaining businesses that focus on climate solutions. The training is free and available to everyone involved this year.

Join us to explore the latest trends, tackle key challenges, and unlock exciting opportunities in achieving zero carbon targets. We invite the community to find practical and innovative ways to make the City of Melbourne more sustainable and combat climate change.
