Notice is given pursuant to the Naming Rules for places in Victoria 2022 (‘Rules’) that the Melbourne City Council (‘Council’) proposes to name a new private pedestrian only road at 346-350 Macaulay Road, Kensington, as Lightwood Walk (the ‘Proposal’).

The naming is required to provide appropriate addressing for a private walkway, which will provide addressing for six new buildings being developed, to ensure the integrity of Council’s records and support the provision of emergency and statutory services.

The proposed name Lightwood, has been chosen because Acacia implexa is a native species of wattle tree commonly found along the banks of Moonee Ponds Creek which runs directly adjacent to the property.

The common name for this species is Lightwood.
