Park design brief finalised

June 14, 2019

The park design brief for Seafarers Rest Park has been finalised and will be issued to the developer in June. A concept for the park will be exhibited by the end of the year.

A Cultural Heritage Management Plan (PDF 6.01 MB) was undertaken to inform the design and construction of the new public open space.

Within the plan a Desktop Assessment was undertaken to provide background information on the activity and its impacts, other archaeological studies, previously recorded Aboriginal places, the environment and to develop a prediction model for the Activity Area.

A Standard Assessment was also undertaken to provide information on the ground surface visibility, previous disturbance to the Activity Area and identify areas of archaeological potential. Oral history was recorded and is included in the Appendix to the document.
