The Community Engagement Policy Review 2025 consultation summary is now available.

Community consultation took place from 4 August to 10 September 2025.

Key insights that emerged from community feedback indicate:

• The community values engagement practices that build trust and accountability, support informed participation, are inclusive and close the loop and clearly show how feedback informs decisions.
• Areas we need to improve include transparency, representation, trust, awareness, timing and inclusivity.

Drawing on this feedback, the updated policy will:

• Focus on providing more transparency and accountability for how engagement is planned, delivered and reported on.
• Define when, how and with whom we engage and integrate this into a revised spectrum of participation.

The draft updated policy will be presented to Council for consideration on 9 December 2025.

In Phase 2 community engagement (12 January to 27 February 2026), we will share our draft updated Community Engagement Policy for feedback. We will then finalise the policy later in 2026.
