North and West Melbourne and Docklands Assessments complete and consultation summary available

December 1, 2023

We have completed our final Community Resilience Assessments in North and West Melbourne, and Docklands.

North and West Melbourne residents strongly encouraged ways to make their streets safer, more accessible and resilient to disasters such as heatwaves and floods. Participants proposed to have a community volunteer connector system to provider new comers with information and enhance a sense of community connection and belonging.

In Docklands, we heard that high rises are great opportunities for coordinated and efficient communication and clear protocols. Local community groups have community cohesion and safety at heart and want to see greater collaboration across council, corporates and community.

Despite the unique nature of each neighbourhood, we heard common issues across all Assessments. For instance, five ideas emerged as key across the six neighbourhoods.

We are working on bringing these ideas to life, with your input and help
