Yabby to measure bench usage

December 9, 2022

A small movement sensor known as a ‘yabby’, has been installed on an existing bench along the Drummond Street median strip.

The accelerometer will be used to capture data and compare usage with the new Social Spaces design. Same size as the palm of your hand and generated by batteries, the ‘yabby’ collects data when the bench is used.

This will help us to understand how the bench is used and compare it with the new design. The new design will be installed in December for the community to test and share feedback.
