Docklands Resilience Assessment

August 22, 2023

The City of Melbourne is working on a four-year Major Initiative “Prepare Melbourne" on Community Disaster Resilience, which is included in the Council Plan 2021-25 to ‘engage and prepare residents and communities to enhance their resilience to hazards, disasters and the health impacts of climate change’.

Docklands has been prioritised to conduct a Community Resilience Assessment to learn from the neighbourhood’s vulnerabilities and strengths, inform community members about resources under development and hear ideas to build resilience in the community. This work is well aligned with Docklands’ community connection neighbourhood priority.

In Docklands, 52 per cent of people have confidence in their neighbourhood pulling together during a disaster or an emergency, but only 35 per cent believe that they could receive help from a neighbour.

We are looking for community members to participate in our Community Resilience Assessment in Docklands. The workshop will be held on Thursday 5 October 2023, 4pm to 6.30pm. Participants will receive a $150 voucher to thank them for their time and sharing their knowledge of Docklands. To register your interest click here
