East Melbourne Heritage Review – have your say at the Future Melbourne Committee meeting

November 6, 2025

Next Tuesday 11 November, the Future Melbourne Committee (FMC) will consider the East Melbourne Heritage Review and proposed Planning Scheme Amendments C484 and C485.

The review provides recommendations on:

  • proposed new heritage places/precincts to be protected
  • changes to existing heritage places/precincts
  • updates to the thematic environmental history, including Aboriginal heritage.

Feedback we received from our community in 2024 helped inform the review. Thank you to everyone who had their say.

There are more opportunities to get involved:

  • You can have your say about the review at the FMC meeting. Find out how and access a copy of the review through our news update.
  • If the amendments are adopted at FMC, the next step is for the Minister for Planning to authorise the amendments. After authorisation, you’ll be able to have your say on the review during the public exhibition period.
