Have your say on our next Road Management Plan

May 2, 2025

Did you know that there are 251km of roads and 350km of footpaths in the City of Melbourne?

Our Road Management Plan (RMP) sets out our responsibilities, standards and inspection protocols for making sure these road assets are safe and well-maintained.

The main purpose of the RMP is to outline potential defects – such as a loose or chipped paver on a footpath, overgrown vegetation obstructing a road or a damaged traffic sign – and provide guidance to our staff on when and how they should respond to each type of hazard.

We are required by legislation to review the RMP every four years.

We’re seeking your feedback on proposed changes to the plan – have your say at participate.melbourne.vic.gov.au/road-management-plan-2025 by Saturday 31 May 2025.
