Could you be a Neighbourhood Batteries Community Champion?

March 14, 2023

City of Melbourne is making it easier for all residents to access affordable renewable energy, no matter where they live.

The Power Melbourne project will install a network of neighbourhood batteries around the city.

We’re working together with the cities of Yarra and Port Phillip to develop our community’s knowledge around the purpose and benefits of neighbourhood batteries.

We’re looking for champions to help us understand what the community thinks about neighbourhood batteries potentially being installed in their area.

Champions support our engagement work by:

  • participating in three workshops (April, May and July)
  • promoting the project through their own networks
  • reporting back on community preferences and priorities.

Do I need to have previous experience?

Not at all! We want to hear from a diverse range of people who are passionate about neighbourhood batteries, who might not know as much about them or who have concerns.

Find out more about becoming a Community Champion and submit an expression of interest. Nominations close 16 April 2023.
