The City of Melbourne is committed to identifying and protecting the city's heritage places, buildings and objects as part of our Heritage Strategy.

We're reviewing heritage in North Melbourne to better understand the area's physical and cultural heritage, and to find out what makes North Melbourne distinctive.

We're looking at a defined area in North Melbourne, which has not been captured in recent heritage studies.

People may be familiar with some of the landmarks within the study boundary, including:

  • Errol Street shopping strip
  • North Melbourne Town Hall
  • North Melbourne Primary School
  • Lady Huntingfield Children's Centre
  • North Melbourne Community Centre.

We asked the community to share their local knowledge of the area by adding a comment to our interactive map. Feedback gathered will inform our heritage review, and help us understand what heritage places should be kept as this vibrant suburb grows and changes.
