Local Food Launchpad Pitch Night

August 2, 2018

The City of Melbourne has been working with Doing Something Good, Open Food Network on the Local Food Launchpad Program for 2018. This program is supported by our Food Policy and Startup Action Plan.

This program has seen some of Melbourne’s most passionate entrepreneurs and change makers develop social enterprises, community ventures and startups aimed at making our food system more healthy, sustainable and socially inclusive.

The final event for this program is the Pitch Night where you can hear about their inspiring new ventures, what they discovered about our food system, and the exciting opportunities they’ve identified.

We’d love for you to join us for the 2018 Local Food Launchpad Pitch Night.

Date: Wednesday 8 August 2018
Time: 5.30pm until 9pm
Location: One Roof (77-83 City Road, Southbank)
Catering: Thanks to Chef Ben Mac and the team at Social Food Project, you’ll also be in for a very special culinary experience — with canapés and other tasty treats made from local, sustainable and ethically-sourced produce and featuring ingredients from the gardens, farms and kitchens of our Launchpad participants.

You'll also get to learn about:

  • emerging opportunities for farming in Melbourne’s Foodbowl — from University of Melbourne’s Dr Rachel Carey (lead researcher on the latest Foodprint Melbourne report) and,
  • the visionary collective impact project at the new Melbourne Food Hub — from Melbourne Farmers Markets' Miranda Sharp.

The cost of the tickets will go directly to the Local Food Launchpad ventures to provide much valued seed funding. Grab your ticket here.
