Panel report for C258 Heritage Policies Review

June 18, 2019

Planning Panels Victoria has completed its Panel Report for C258 Heritage Policies Review.

The Panel recommends that Melbourne Planning Scheme Amendment C258 be adopted subject to a number of recommended changes.

The role of the Panel is to make recommendations that City of Melbourne, and in turn, the Minister for Planning will consider before adopting the Amendment.

The Panel report for Amendment C258 is complex and raises issues we are currently considering; we need to make sure the implications are well understood. To this end, we have sought clarity from the Panel on what appear to be unintended consequences of recommended changes to the heritage policies.

An assessment of the Panel Report and a revised version of Amendment C258 will be considered at the Future Melbourne Committee meeting towards the end of the year.

Please note that no immediate changes will be made to the Melbourne Planning Scheme based on the Panel report and recommendations.

The Panel report is available for download in the document library.
