Using ‘smart’ technology in West Melbourne's Eades Park

February 3, 2023

We will use sensors to better understand community activity at Eades Park.

Sensors are a useful tool to help us understand patterns and trends in our city spaces. They capture data so we can better understand how public spaces are used, and help inform future upgrades, designs and activations, and more importantly, enable conversations with the community.

Argyle Square in Carlton was the first Melbourne open space to be ‘sensed’. We’ve been collecting and storing data from Argyle Square since 2020. Royal Park was our second 'Data in the park' project, enabling us to trial new types of sensors and develop insights about park usage.

We will collect data in Eades Park and share insights with the community. Learn more and hit 'Follow' on the project page to stay up to date.
