The City of Melbourne is committed to protecting its rich cultural heritage as the city grows and changes.
We are reviewing the heritage of parts of South Yarra to better understand its physical and cultural heritage and find out what makes it different to other communities in the city.
The review area is bounded by High Street to the south, Punt Road to the east, St Kilda Road to the west and Alexandra Avenue and Boathouse Drive to the north, including the south bank of the Yarra river.
The South Yarra Heritage Review is the latest study in a rolling program of heritage reviews to ensure we have up-to-date knowledge to protect the city’s valued places.
From 10 August to 21 September 2020 we asked the community to share their knowledge of South Yarra to help inform our heritage review.
There are two types of feedback we asked you to share:
- Places that contribute to South Yarra's heritage.
- Stories about heritage places in South Yarra.
