The Greenline Project Draft Master Plan outlines a vision for transforming the north bank of the Yarra River – Birrarung. It contains information to guide the delivery of 4km of interconnected promenades, parks, open spaces, native planting, cultural activations and environmental renewal between Birrarung Marr and the Bolte Bridge.

We want to make sure the Draft Master Plan reflects what our community, businesses, and key stakeholders have been saying about the Greenline Project.

What we have heard so far

This consultation on the Draft Master Plan builds on previous engagement on the Greenline Implementation Plan, early precinct planning and the draft concept plan for the first Greenline project at Birrarung Marr and recent engagement to Inform the Greenline Project Master Plan.

Through these phases of consultation we have heard that our community and stakeholders want to see:

  • Ecologically and environmentally sustainable design, embracing the connection with nature and interaction with the river.
  • The recognition and celebration of Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung history and culture, and a focus on health and wellbeing of Country.
  • Accessible and safe spaces to support inclusion and a range of uses for our whole community.
  • Seamless connection of the riverfront with the city, prioritising a pedestrian-focused shared path.
