The Greenline Project is a transformational project that will present a new vision for the north bank of the Yarra River - Birrarung. It will see the development of five precincts covering 4 km between Birrarung Marr and the Bolte Bridge.
Previous engagement on the draft Greenline Implementation Plan took place from August to October 2021 and invited community to provide suggestions for the future of The Greenline Project, both as a whole and as a series of individual precincts and places.
This stage of engagement was the first in an ongoing and evolving program of collaboration across all stages of The Greenline Project.
In December 2021, the Future Melbourne Committee endorsed the Greenline Implementation Plan that incorporated feedback from previous engagement. This plan outlines the vision for this city-shaping project which will transform the north bank of the Yarra River – Birrarung.
The City of Melbourne has been using the endorsed document to advocate for and collaborate with others to develop individual projects for further engagement with the community and stakeholders prior to implementation. We have been out to Expression of Interest and will be engaging a team of external design consultants to develop a Master Plan and detailed Precinct Plans for consultation in 2023.
To inform this work and kickstart the delivery of The Greenline Project in 2023, the City of Melbourne is consulting on the progression of planning for The Greenline Project Precincts and Site One of the Birrarung Marr Precinct.
