Presented by Future Melbourne Ambassador Rob McGauran, this developer breakfast briefing will discuss and workshop ideas for Future Melbourne 2026.

Members of Melbourne’s urban development sector will be invited to a facilitated workshop to discuss their ideas for the planning, design and development of Melbourne over the coming decade and contribute these ideas to Future Melbourne 2026. Future Melbourne Ambassador Rob McGauran, will set the scene for the engagement breakfast.

Looking at the future trends urban growth and density, climate change and the digital city, participants will work in facilitated groups to explore the challenges, opportunities and question for the development of Melbourne particularly in the inner area. What will be the impacts of emerging development investment and procurement models? How will technological, workplace and household changes affect the way we configure our future places and buildings. How can good liveability be achieved in high density mixed use city precincts? How should planning regulation respond to these challenges? What can we learn to do better from other places and what has and hasn’t worked here?

The groups will then share the ideas by posting them on the Future Melbourne 2026 website.

This is an invite only stakeholder event. If you are interested in attending, please contact us at future@melbourne.vic.gov.au
